Mid Argyll RFC Ladies were on their travels to join up with Waysiders Drumpellier on Saturday to play in the return fixture of their tie against Strathendrick RFC.
With the more experienced players missing through injury and work commitments, a much-changed team had a lot of forwards playing in backs positions.
With seven players on the pitch playing their first game and some players playing out of position, they showed real flexibility and a willingness to compete. Every player on the pitch gave 100 per cent and they all did it with a smile on their face.
From the first whistle there were big ball carries, great support play and a willingness to try clear the rucks.
It was the ladies’ first game doing contested lineouts which went really well and showed how much they have developed individually and as a team.
The final score was Strathendrick 23 - MA/WD 10, which included a try from the half way line by Mid Argyll’s Emma Lowe.
Though the score didn’t go their way it was another great game for the ladies to be involved in and another positive experience to build on.
