A record number of ploughmen are perfecting their furrows ahead of Kintyre Agricultural Society’s annual ploughing match.
The competition is set to take place on Saturday at West Moy Farm, by kind permission of the Young family.
Society secretary John Armour said: “We are delighted to have an excellent field at the Moy, with a record entry of 30 competitors coming from near and far.
“Spectators are welcome. The competition starts at 10am and should be finished by 2pm, with the prizegiving as soon as possible after that.”
The annual auction for the summer let of the society’s show fields will also take place on the day, just before the ploughing match prizegiving at approximately 2.30pm.
There will be limited catering available.
