A community without volunteers would not be a community.
National Lottery funding will help set up local volunteer groups in village locations close to sections of the Kintyre Way.
The people of Campbeltown and Kintyre, as well as smaller village communities, have really come together – figuratively! – to support each other.
An evening of appreciation was held for South Kintyre’s Active Schools volunteers at Campbeltown Sailing Club recently.
‘We really urgently need some new volunteers to help us carry out this worthwhile work for many more years to come.’
Another group of volunteers which has worked hard for many years is the Kintyre Red Cross committee.
‘The RNLI shop could not operate without the support of all the volunteers. In particular I should thank Ailsa Martin for organising the rota. This year we also have some new young, keen and dynamic volunteers.’
