Small wooden crosses bearing the names of children’s family members lost in war were placed in the ground around the table.
The pupils have worked on the project for months, visiting Pollok House in Glasgow, as well as the MacDonald family crypt at Killean.
Rhunahaorine Primary School’s children were privileged to be admitted into the Macdonald’s of Largie’s family crypt at Killean.
The celebration doubled up as a prize-giving ceremony for all the children’s achievements across the school year.
The consensus in the hall was that it was a very challenging quiz, with any queries about answers settled by the child who wrote the question.
Some children stepped in and filled more than one role but during the impressive production, the audience was none-the-wiser.
‘Waterproofs are a year-round necessity here, and I know the pupils will be happy to be able to stay dry while enjoying their education outside the classroom.’
Thanks are due to Dalintober Primary School for once again hosting the event.
