The branch would like to thank South Kintyre’s three councillors for funding the bench through the Campbeltown Common Good Fund.
Campbeltown’s Royal British Legion Scotland (RBLS) chairman, George Rahman blew the whistle as he organised, the sombre event, in light rain, with military precision.

Since Sunday evening the Esplanade war memorial has been lit up in a silent vivid tribute to Kintyre’s WW1 lost servicemen.
George Rahman said: ‘We would encourage locals to consider joining Legion Scotland and supporting our important work.’

As there is no unified record of veterans who are alive today the Royal British Legion needs to spread the word.
A parade led by a pipe band and including members of the Campbeltown branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland will march to the war memorial before the two minute silence at 11am.
