CalMac had previously announced that the start of the service would be delayed by a week

In another blow, the redeployed The MV Isle of Arran then had to be withdrawn from service to undergo ‘essential repairs’ to her bow visor seal.
‘When a major route loses one of the largest boats in the fleet, it has a huge knock-on affect elsewhere, and Campbeltown and Arran are once again suffering’
Councillor John Armour, who chairs the Campbeltown ferry committee, said he hopes for a ‘trouble-free season’ this year.
The seasonal service, which was introduced on a trial basis in 2013 and became permanent in 2015, has been plagued by cancellations due to weather and mechanical issues.
Last Sunday the vessel sailed into Campbeltown with no passengers as it was deemed unsafe to due to weather, despite the crew being on board.
