Thanks to laid back organisation the town experienced another great festival at the 2018 Harbour Day. Well done to the RNLI.
Liam Renton said: ‘I was in the second heat of the final and thought I had to go for it after the quality in the first heat.’
Liam Renton also spoke about how well the players had done, saying how very proud of their achievements he was.
It was really hard on Jamie Burns; normally the club centre half, who came to the club’s rescue by volunteering for duty between the sticks. He played really well throughout the game and hardly deserved this piece of really bad luck.
Proud mum Mhairi Renton said: ‘Although no longer having major status this is a very prestigious competition and Liam is delighted to have taken first place.’
