A huge selection of buffet-style food was prepared and served up by members of the church in Kirk Street Hall.
Bunches of daffodils sold at £1 each were fast movers at the Highland Parish Church coffee morning.
The two course meal, with a festive flavour, included soup and a roll followed by unlimited tea or coffee and a mince pie.
The participants of Sunday’s parade disbanded, at the ferry terminal, rather than taking part in the service at Highland Parish Church.
There was a poppy shower from the balcony planned by four elders: Elise Glendinning, Margaret McIvor, Margaret Houston and Liz Kennedy.
Cold rain did not put off coffee drinkers who packed a Kirk Street hall coffee morning.
The advice is to go early to avoid disappointment. As the old saying goes: ‘You snooze, you lose.’
