Kintyre representatives, including a band of treasure-seeking pirates, returned from Oban’s Highlands and Islands Music and Dance Festival with silverware
‘To have four swimmers qualify this year … is testament to the hard work and dedication these girls have put in at training over the past two years.’
Over the two days, six Kintyre swimmers represented the club at district level, the highest number from the club ever.
‘The Festival of Swimming was a great starting point for the sport moving forward again after a tough 18 months.’
The popular race is typically run beside the Crinan Canal but it was held virtually this year because of the Covid-19 pandemic
‘I’m delighted with the improvements shown as these swimmers have worked very hard throughout the summer after a short two-week break.’
Teams of four competed in long jump, shot putt, 60m sprint and 4 x 200m relay events.
