Letter: Painting saved for Kintyre

Further to the feature and photographs in the Courier last Friday about the two Archibald MacKinnon paintings, I would like to acknowledge the part played by the Courier.

Peploe painting loaned to Campbeltown

Frank Chinn the museum’s temporary curator said: ‘The painting is deceptively simple but it is the simplicity of a master who can reduce a complex living subject to a few brush strokes.’

Kintyre Scientific Association talk

Following the AGM of the Friends of Campbeltown Museum next Thursday at 7pm in the Burnet Building, its chairman, Angus Martin will give a talk on the Kintyre Scientific Association and its leading founder-members.
