Phil MacHugh said: ‘When Billy got a major starring role in a Bollywood movie, the true hero was my sister Yvonne.’
Speaking at the reception afterwards, Billy, 37, his voice cracking with emotion, said: ‘In my time in India Yvonne fought so hard. Yvonne has changed my world since I met her.’
Yvonne, 29, who campaigned tirelessly for Billy’s release, said she was ‘beyond excited’ to finally wed the 37-year-old ex-soldier.
Billy said: ‘I can never forgive the UK government and the FCO.’
Later a press officer working for EE said that there were not many EE customers in Camberwell PA28 as the firm has no network.
