Following a half-hour outdoor service they processed, carrying a wooden cross, to a service at St Kiaran’s Scottish Episcopal church.
A Community church spokesperson said: ‘Chris and Andrea have been very much part of several aspects of Campbeltown life over many years and they will be greatly missed.’
A fire kept the cold at bay as more than 30 church members and visitors gathered on the beach below the church for a short service.
Representatives from the four congregations – Southend, Carradale, Highland and Lorne and Lowland – met on Monday evening.
Free Church moderator, Reverend Derek Lamont will speak and discuss events leading up to and including the crucifixion of Jesus.
The certificates were signed by the Moderator of the Church of Scotland General Assembly, the Right Reverend Dr Derek Browning.
Rev Wallace said: ‘I have enjoyed Campbeltown immensly. It has been a great experience there is such a sense of community working with people here and thoughts for all.
