It has been a big couple of weeks for Kintyre wrestler Iona Sky.

The Tarbert Academy pupil reached the final of the Renegade Cup at a sold-out show in Glasgow, defeating the very experienced Kirsty Love – with a bit of interference from Ronnie Knocks – before losing out to stable mate Maven Struthers in a fatal four-way elimination.

Then, last Saturday, she made the journey to Dundee to compete in the Scottish Wrestling Entertainment (SWE) Empress 8 tournament.

Sky defeated London Lovelust and moves onto the semi-final at the end of the month, where she will lock horns with Maven Struthers for a place in the final and a chance to face Ayesha Raymond for the SWE Championship.

All-in-all, it has been a fine couple of weeks for Kintyre’s own ‘Punk Rock Princess’.

Iona Sky will wrestle on CVW’s card as wrestling returns to Tarbert Village Hall on October 22. Tickets are on sale now.
