Members of Campbeltown Community Council were delighted to receive lots of positive feedback from the many senior citizens who enjoyed their afternoon tea boxes marking Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

In honour of the UK monarch’s historic 70-year reign, the community council offered afternoon tea boxes full of treats to all senior citizens in Campbeltown and more than 330 were collected or delivered to be enjoyed at home.

Included in each box was a royal-themed quiz, about 50 of which were returned, five with completely correct answers.

In the subsequent draw, Iain McMillan emerged the winner and was presented with his prize of a hamper from The Kintyre Larder.

‘Thanks to all involved with collecting and delivering the tea boxes,’ said a Campbeltown Community Council spokesperson.
