Campbeltown man Stuart Campbell has broken his own record, set last year, by winning Machrihanish Golf Club’s championship title for the 18th time.

The club’s 2022 champions were presented with their prizes after the final two rounds of the club championships last Saturday and Sunday.

Blustery playing conditions, with heavy rain showers and some very tricky pin positions, made scoring very difficult for the players.

Stuart did the double by winning his second seniors’ championship as well as his record-breaking 18th club championship, finishing with a superb final round of 73, winning by seven shots from Robbie Christie.

The ladies’ championship was won by Pia Davis, who won her first championship, winning by one shot from Ann Gallacher.
