Mull of Kintyre Music Festival (MOKFest) organisers are encouraging people keen to attend this year’s Traditional Concert to get tickets soon as they are selling quickly.
The Saturday August 20 event, part of a packed five-day festival line-up, promises to be a real treat for the Campbeltown Heritage Centre audience, with renowned Scottish musicians Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham headlining.
Regular MOKFest performers, Aly and Phil have become a national institution with their incomparable mastery of fiddle and accordion, bringing excellence in traditional music to venues across the country.
Having toured together since 1986 to packed concert halls all over the world, the pair make a welcome return to play at this year’s MOKFest, bringing with them their well-honed skills and hilarious banter that has delighted audiences everywhere.
‘This will be the duo’s first performance in Campbeltown since their sell-out MOKFest concert in 2018, so get your tickets early,’ said a festival spokesperson.
The concert will also feature classical and folk musician Ellie Beaton, who was named MG Alba Scots Singer of the Year 2021, supported by guitarist Gillie O’Flaherty.
Tickets for this all year’s MOKFest concerts, which also feature Elephant Sessions, Trail West, Fìobha Ceilidh Band, Brian McNeill, Calum Alex MacMillan with Ross Martin and Slainte Davaar Allstars, are available from AP Taylor, Main Street, Campbeltown, or online at www.ticketweb.com.
