Campbeltown has produced some great and memorable bands and musicians over the years and Slainte Davaar Allstars, who celebrate their 10th anniversary this year, have now joined that list.

Each year the core members of the band come together with a variety of guest musicians to perform a fantastic set of new tracks.

In 2020, the band performed and recorded their own version of David Bowie’s Space Odyssey which was broadcast to the International Space Station as part of the virtual Mull of Kintyre Music Festival (MOKFest).

This year, MOKFest fans have a chance to hear the band live at the legendary Survivors Night on Sunday August 21.

Also performing on the night will be young, fun and energetic traditional band Rhuvaal and five-piece party band FL!NG.

Completing the line-up are The Gilchristians, Alex, Arran and Archie McAllister, Session A83 and Che Martin, who makes his debut at the event.

The MC for this concert and the previous night’s West Coast Rocks Concert will be Alison M Leith, who has performed as the lead singer of Slainte Davaar Allstars since the band’s inception and debut in 2012.

Tickets for this all year’s MOKFest concerts, which also feature Elephant Sessions, Trail West, Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham, Fìobha Ceilidh Band, Brian McNeill and Calum Alex MacMillan with Ross Martin, are available from AP Taylor, Main Street, Campbeltown, or online at www.ticketweb.com.
