Campbeltown was a fantastic place to be last week.

The atmosphere in the town was electric during Campbeltown Malts Festival and the Mull of Kintyre Half Marathon and 10K weekend – and not just for whisky and running fans but for the whole community.

Although we must continue to keep an eye on the Covid situation, it was invigorating being able to put it to the back of one’s mind for a few days to enjoy two of the biggest events in the Kintyre calendar – like in the good old days!

It was fantastic to socialise with old friends and make new connections, while welcoming back tourists who were not permitted to visit the town they love so much during the height of the pandemic.

It was also great to see the many new and familiar faces who travelled for this year’s MOKRun, which was another roaring success.

The amount of effort that goes in to organising both events will be far greater than we can imagine – well done to all involved for helping to breathe some life back into Campbeltown.
