Footnotes Dance Company is inviting youngsters in primary six and above to join its ranks.

The group started life as Dance Workshop in 1979/80 as a school club with then teachers Miss McDougall – Alison Millar – and Mrs Morag Martin.

With the school strikes in 1981/82, the group moved from being a school club to Footnotes, meeting twice a week in Campbeltown’s community centre, where it has continued to meet since.

‘Our aim is to encourage and nurture young dancers to express themselves through music and movement,’ said a group spokesperson.

‘We would welcome budding dancers who’d love to learn new skills and former members who would like to reconnect with us and rekindle their love of dance.

‘We meet every Tuesday in Kintyre Community Education Centre from 7pm to 9pm.

‘Come along on Tuesday May 17 if you’re interested. We’d love to see you there.’
