On the only wet day for weeks, 22 gents took to Dunaverty golf course last Saturday to compete in the Club Stableford competition.

Robert Irvine set the pace with an impressive score of 41 points.

He was soon pipped by Willie Ralston, however, who took the trophy by virtue of scoring 24 points on the back nine in his 41-point total – finishing with 11 points on the final three holes by chipping in at 16 and 18 from off the green.

‘Thanks, as always, to Jonathan Barbour and Campbell MacBrayne for presenting the course in excellent condition,’ said a club spokesperson, ‘and to Rona Burton at The Tea Box for heating everyone up after the golf.’

Result: 1 Willie Ralston 41pts (bih), 2 Robert Irvine 41pts, 3 Stuart McLachlan 39pts, 4 Jake MacMillan 38pts (bih), 5 Neil Brodie 38pts, 6 Stevie Garrett 37pts.
