The final overnight closure required to complete ongoing surfacing works on the A83 north of Bellochauntuy has been rescheduled to avoid potential travel disruption over the early May holiday weekend.

The final night of surfacing improvements was due to take place on Sunday (May 1), with all works expected to be completed by 5am on Monday.

However, given the holiday weekend, workers stood-down this morning (Friday) and will return to the site on Tuesday (May 3).

To complete the works, an additional overnight closure will now be implemented next Wednesday (May 4). The works are programmed to take place between 8pm and 5am each night.

Traffic management will remain the same as previous nights, work will be carried out using a full road closure to protect workers and road-users.

Amnesty periods will be provided at 9pm, 10pm, midnight, 2am and 4am. All road users are encouraged to arrive prior to these times to ensure they are accommodated within the amnesty period.

The A83 will remain open outwith working hours; however, reduced speed limits will be in place and road users should drive with care as they will be running on a temporary road surface.

Emergency services will be able to pass through the works at all times. Local access for residents and scheduled bus services will be maintained as far as reasonably practicable.
