A section of the A83 between Bellochantuy and Glenbarr will be closed for 11 nights this month, beginning on Sunday April 10, as 1km of road undergoes £450,000 of surfacing improvements.
The road will be closed between 8pm and 5am each night but there will be amnesty periods at 9pm, 10pm, midnight, 2am and 4am. All road users are encouraged to arrive prior to these times to ensure they are accommodated.
The A83 will remain open outwith working hours but reduced speed limits will be in place and road users are advised to drive with care as they will be running on a temporary road surface.
Emergency services will be able to pass through the works at all times and access for residents and scheduled bus services will be maintained as far as reasonably practicable.
No work will be carried out from Wednesday April 13 to Sunday April 17 due to Easter or on the nights of Friday April 22 and Saturday April 23. The work is expected to be complete by 5am on Wednesday April 27, subject to weather conditions.
Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: ‘We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.’
