Work to install a piece of inclusive play equipment at Jock’s Adventure Playground will begin later this month.

A new swing which can accommodate wheelchair-users is being installed at the playpark after a campaign led by Campbeltown mum Iona MacLean raised £25,000 to fund the equipment from Welsh-based GL Jones Playgrounds.

Mrs MacLean was supported throughout last year’s campaign by Campbeltown Community Council (CCC) and South Kintyre councillor Donald Kelly.

Catherine Dobbie of CCC said: ‘We have had a long wait and are very grateful to all the funders for their patience.’
