Organisers of Kintyre Way Ultra race are inviting people to celebrate Machrihanish Airbase Community Company’s 10th anniversary by taking part in its Friday Frolic fun run.
The eight-mile loop around Machrihanish is taking place on the evening of Friday May 13 to kick-off a three-day running festival and it is said to be perfect for athletes of all abilities.
Organisers plan to give all participants a memento, hopefully made by a local craftsperson, and would like to hear from any potential sponsors who could help fund this.
They are grateful to Greg Sherman of Machrihanish’s Ugadale Hotel for allowing participants to park at the back of the hotel and providing refreshments which will be on offer in the village hall after the race.
Entries for the fun run will close on April 22.
Athletes who fancy more of a challenge can take part in the 33-mile Kintyre Way Ultra marathon the following day, or The Great Carradale Canter’s 5K or 10K races on the Sunday.
Visit the Kintyre Way Ultra website at www.kintyrewayultra.org or Facebook page – @KintyreWayUltra – for more information and updates.
