Due to inclement weather, Dunaverty Golf Club’s lady members rescheduled their December medal to last Saturday (January 15).

Their first competition of 2022 drew a large field of 16 keen ladies.

Although the day started off with drizzle, it deteriorated early on, with wind and rain for almost the whole round and it was bitterly cold.

Early players home and playing partners Elizabeth Marrison and Katharine Hardman both carded scores of 71 (+6) but Elizabeth took the lead with a better inward half.

This remained the situation until Linda Arkell, who was playing in the final group, produced a score of 70 (+5) to take the lead and win.

Results: 1 Linda Arkell 70 (+5), 2 Elizabeth Marrison 71 (+6) (bih), 3 Katharine Hardman 71 (+6). Lowest gross: Elizabeth Marrison 84.

‘Well done to all participants and what a great turnout,’ said a club spokesperson.
