A Kintyre mental health support charity has received a festive funding boost thanks to customers of The Original Factory Shop (TOFS).

Kintyre Link Club was chosen by TOFS’s Campbeltown customers on Facebook to receive £388.25 raised from carrier bag sales and donations to the discount store’s charity fund when customers swipe their TOFS Club member card.

‘We are really excited that we and our customers have helped to raise £388.25 for Kintyre Link Club, our chosen charity,’ said TOFS store manager Lewis Nelson. ‘What it does is invaluable for the local area and we would like to think that this effort will go some small way to supporting its work in the local community.

‘We would also like to say a huge thank you to all of our customers who have swiped their club cards or bought a shopping bag in store.’

Kintyre Link Club manager Tracy Chambers said: ‘I’d like to thank the community for its continued support; we’re always overwhelmed by it.

‘We are delighted to be chosen to receive this funding which will help us to continue supporting people in Kintyre with poor mental health.’

Customers can sign up for a free TOFS Club member card at the checkout in store.
