Campbeltown is one step closer to having an updated community action plan which will set out what people want and need from their town.

In 2012, South Kintyre Development Trust (SKDT) completed a comprehensive survey of the area and published its recommendations in a five-year community action plan.

Now, SKDT, Inspiralba and Campbeltown Community Council have been tasked with updating the action plan.

After surveying almost 900 town residents, SKDT, Inspiralba and Campbeltown Community Council representatives met with staff from Architecture and Design Scotland (ADS) on Tuesday to hold a planning session.

They intend to hold a number of open sessions to confirm what the priorities should be for the area, with an initial £50,000 from Crown Estates available to implement this.

These sessions will be held from December 4 to 7 – see next week’s Courier for more details.
