After leading for most of the first half, Campbeltown Pupils 2007s (U15s) lost out to second-in-the-league Westercommon Stars in a home fixture last Sunday.

The teams paid their respects to Remembrance Sunday with a minute’s silence before the Glasgow and District Youth Football League (GDYFL) match on the 3G all-weather pitch at Kinloch Green.

The first half of the game saw a strong Campbeltown side going 1-0 up with an equaliser just before half-time.

The second half started slow for the home side and Westercommon took full advantage of the situation to make the full-time result 4-1.

‘We have now played the top half of the table and we hope the U15s have found their groove,’ said coach Rhys Blair. ‘We are positive they can start picking up points and climb the table.’
