MCNAIR – Hughie and Kate were married in Longrow Church, Campbeltown, by the Rev I. F. Tibbs on October 6, 1961. Present address: Ceol Mara, Summerhill Crescent, Campbeltown.

BLAIR – Peacefully at home, after an illness borne bravely Catriona Blair, née Park, in her 64th year, of 34 MacDonald Terrace, Lochgilphead. Beloved wife of the late Keith Blair. Much loved mother of Catherine and Stewart. Loving grandmother of Jenna and Jamie. Dearly loved sister of Morag Bruce and an adored Aunt to George, Donald and David. A good neighbour and dear friend to many. A graveside service was held at Kilmoden Cemetery, Glendaruel on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. Forever in our thoughts.

MILLIGAN – Peacefully at the Campbeltown Hospital, on September 23, 2021, John Milligan (Jack) in his 84th year, Old School House, Southend, dearly beloved husband of the late Josephine, much loved dad of Joanne, Carol and Jim, father-in-law of Trevor, Campbell and Nicola and a loving granda of Loren, Lewis and Jack.

SWEENEY – Peacefully at the Campbeltown Hospital, on September 21, 2021, Marion Blackstock (Morag) in her 96th year, 46 Castleacres, Campbeltown, dearly beloved wife of the late Patrick Sweeney, much loved aunt of Dolleen and Alastair and a loving step-mum of Fiona. Marion’s funeral will take place in the Lorne and Lowland Parish Church on Tuesday, October 5 at 12.00 noon, thereafter to Kilkerran Cemetery. The cortege will leave the Church at 12.30 p.m. We will travel up Longrow, along Aqualibrium Avenue and past the Cross on our way to Kilkerran Cemetery. Anyone is welcome to attend the service in the church, alternatively you may pay your last respects to Marion along our route. Please remember to observe social distancing.

TURNBULL – At Ninewells Hospital Dundee, on September 25, 2021, with his family by his side, after a battle with cancer, Ian Turnbull in his 69th year, of 10A Perth Road, Stanley and formerly of Jubilee Terrace, Lochgilphead. Loved husband of Margaret and loved dad of Mark, Emma and the late Eilidh, loving grandpa of Connor, Argyle, Arran, Myrtle and Violet. A graveside service will take place today, Friday, October 1, 2021, at 12 noon. Donations can be made in memory of Ian directly to Cancer Research or via Donald MacDonald Funeral Directors.

MACPHERSON – The family of the late Nancy Macpherson wish to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for their kind expressions of sympathy with cards, telephone calls and floral tributes received on the loss of Nancy. Thanks to Catriona Smith and her team of carers in Lorne Campbell Court, Mairi Brown and her team from the Community Nurses for the care given to mother. Special thanks to Kenny and Rhys Blair for professional services, the Rev. Willie Crossan for a very comforting service and to Marjorie for her lovely music. Thanks to all who attended the church and graveside services.

MCMILLAN – The McMillan family would like to thank all our relatives and friends for the many kind expressions of sympathy, cards, flowers, messages, phone calls and visits following the sad loss of our dear mum Margaret. To Rev. William Crossan for a comforting and uplifting service, Kenneth and Rhys Blair and staff for a professional and caring service. Community nurses, especially June and Fiona for their support in her last hours, the Ardshiel Hotel for purvey and finally to everyone who paid their respects in the church and on her way to Kilkerran Cemetery and at the graveside.

MCSPORRAN – Donald, Anne and Mary and their families would like to thank all relatives and friends for the many kind expressions of sympathy they received following the recent very sad loss of their lovely mum, Margaret. Special thanks to Dr. K. Cook, the community nursing team, Carr Gomm Care Team, Carr Gomm Day Response Team and staff nurse Mairi Brown. Grateful thanks to the Rev. Steve Fulcher for the comforting service, to TA Blair Funeral Directors for their professional services, with special thanks to Kelly Grogan and the Argyll Arms Hotel, Campbeltown for excellent purvey. Our thanks also to all who paid their respects as the funeral cortège made its way to Kilkerran Cemetery and all who attended the church service, this was much appreciated by the family. The retiral collection for Southend Parish Church and the MS Society (Campbeltown Branch), raised £390.28.
