Campbeltown Pupils YFC 2
Glasgow Athletic YFC 2
GDYFL – Under 17s

Campbeltown Pupils 2005s (under-17s) continued their impressive start to the season with a well-earned 2-2 draw last Sunday against undefeated Glasgow Athletic in the Glasgow and District Youth Football League.

Arguably the home side were the better team on the day with most of the possession and the best chances but they will be happy with one point having twice come from behind.

Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Ardshiel Hotel-sponsored side eventually got their reward after relentless pressure paid off with a superb strike from outside the box by Finlay Kerr.

Having worked so hard to get the equaliser, the Pupils found themselves one goal behind within 90 seconds of the restart as Glasgow Athletic found space on the counter attack to take the lead 2-1.

With five minutes remaining, the Kintyre side made it 2-2 from a converted penalty by Calum Ellis.

On the whole, it was an excellent display by all of the Pupils team with many playing out of position on the day.

There is no game this Sunday due to the September weekend but the Pupils will return to action on Sunday October 3 when they travel to play Cambuslang Rangers in Glasgow.
