Breach of the peace

Three men, aged 23, 25 and 51, were arrested and charged with breach of the peace after allegedly fighting in the street at about 5.10pm on Monday September 6, at Big Kiln Street, Campbeltown. The 51-year-old was also charged with possessing a controlled substance. A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Shoplifting

A 46-year-old woman was identified and charged with shoplifting after stealing from Campbeltown’s Tesco supermarket at about 5pm on Friday September 10. She was issued with a recorded police warning.

Abusive behaviour

Police officers were called to Bowmore Primary School, Islay, at about 11.40am on Wednesday September 8, after reports of a man allegedly acting in an agitated manner outside the school. A 36-year-old man was arrested and later taken off the island and released on bail with conditions preventing him from returning to Islay.

Man injured in fire

At about 3.50am on Saturday September 11, 2021, police received a report of fire at a house in Glen Road, Islay. Emergency services attended and a 30-year-old man was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. No-one else was injured but the house was extensively damaged. A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
