A Southend business offering immersive horse-riding holidays has been named one of the best attractions in the world after receiving outstanding customer reviews.

Trekking and Riding Society-approved horse riding centre Wilder Ways has been awarded a 2021 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award.

This honour is given to the top 10 per cent of tourist attractions around the globe that consistently deliver fantastic experiences, earning outstanding reviews on the travel company’s website.

The 2021 award celebrates businesses which were able to achieve this during a particularly challenging year.

‘This award is so exciting for us as it was entirely gained from our clients’ fantastic reviews about their adventures with us,’ said Wilder Ways owners Cara Gelati and Nikki Dayton.

‘A massive thank you to everyone who has made the effort to post about their experiences – we so enjoy reading them, and really appreciate how valuable they are to others wondering about coming to Wilder Ways.’

Adventure is at the heart of Wilder Ways’ unique business model. Their horse-riding holidays go from bareback riding in the sea on a swimming horse, to exploring the wild and rugged landscapes of Scotland via hidden trails.

Horseback archery is another popular experience they offer, connecting guests to their warrior pasts.

They offer a range of services, from half-day rides to week-long, all-inclusive holidays, during which guests stay at their traditional stone farmhouse, dining on delicious home-produce and locally-sourced food as they recharge between adventures.

This year, Cara and Nikki have enjoyed welcoming a surge of new guests from the UK in addition to their usual visitors, as people explore what there is on offer in their own backyard.

‘Congratulations to all the winners of the 2021 Travellers’ Choice Awards,’ said Kanika Soni, chief commercial officer at Tripadvisor.

‘I know the past year has been extremely challenging for tourism businesses. What has impressed me is how businesses adapted to these challenges, implementing new cleanliness measures, adding social distancing guidelines, and utilising technology to prioritise guest safety.

‘The Travellers’ Choice Awards highlight the places that are consistently excellent – delivering quality experiences time and time again even while navigating changing customer expectations and new ways of working.

‘Based on a full year of reviews from customers, this award speaks to the great service and experience Wilder Ways provided guests in the midst of a pandemic.’
