The annual George and Jenny MacKay Memorial Pairs will be held at Campbeltown Bowling Club on Sunday (September 12).

The competition raises money for a different charity each year and the 2021 beneficiary is the Mairi Semple Cancer Fund which provides financial aid to people in Kintyre receiving cancer treatment.

At the bowling club on Sunday there will be a barbecue, a raffle with some great prizes, a treasure hunt and baking and bottle stalls.

Some Mairi Semple Cancer Fund volunteers will also be selling cards and other items in aid of their fund.

The prizes for the competition winners and runners up have been donated by Cadenheads Whisky Shop.

A club spokesperson said: ‘Come along and enjoy a good day out and support a very worthwhile cause.’
