A new group based at Campbeltown Town Hall has been set up specifically to identify and organise the types of acts and events the community wants.
Named in reference to Kintyre’s remote location, the End of The Road Club is formed of local people and already has its first event coming up this weekend, which organisers say will be a ‘cracker’.
To coincide with the Mull of Kintyre Music Festival weekend, the club is presenting A Little Bit on the Side with Jeff Jeffrey, who plays electric guitar with backing tracks and plays a wide range of music but mostly rock and pop classic covers.
Jeff is an old hand at gigging in Campbeltown, having previously performed in pubs in the town to much acclaim.
He will be supported by local act We.R.Soul at the town hall event tomorrow (Saturday August 21) from 8pm until late.
There will be a licenced bar at the event for which tickets can be bought from the town hall. A limited number will also be available at the door on the night.
‘We have many other exciting future events in the pipeline,’ said Eric Spence of the End of the Road Club, ‘so watch this space.’
