Campbeltown Lawn Tennis Club has built on the success of Judy Murray’s visit and Colin Hanbidge’s return to Campbeltown and input at the club during a series of summer sessions.

Throughout the six-week summer holiday, more than 50 primary school children attended twice weekly sessions, split into P1 to P3 and P4 to P7 groups.

The sessions were organised and led by tennis leaders Susan Shaw assisted by Rhona O’May, Jane Scott and Scott Souden.

On the final day, two competitions were run for the older children and the winners were: P4/5: winner Murray MacKay, runner up Oliver King; P6/7 winner Sean McArthur, runner up Carla Renton.

A club spokesperson said: ‘All the children made good progress and had lots of fun along the way, helped by the great summer weather.

‘We are delighted with all the positive feedback received from parents and thank Susan, Rhona, Jane and Scott for all their hard work to make this such a success.’
