Fairies move in to Crow Wood
It seems the new Kintyre 66 route has attracted all sorts to the area as a family of fairies has set up home in Carradale’s Crow Wood.
When the first wee house arrived at the woodland walk opposite Carradale Village Hall it got a fantastic reaction, with one child leaving a letter for the magical creatures.
This attracted even more to move in and now several ornate little fairy homes can be spotted all around the woodland, with more expected to arrive soon.
And if you look up while in the wood, you might even see some of the fairies themselves!
Tarbert watches closely as magician wows
It was a magical evening in Tarbert Village Hall last Friday as Billy Reid, Scotland’s ‘champion magician’, performed his Watch Closely show for a near capacity crowd.
The audience was enthralled by the magic tricks and storytelling 18 months after the show was originally scheduled to take place.
The event was brought to the village by Community Interest Company West Kintyre Promotions (WKP) and the organisers were delighted with the turnout and are looking forward to bringing other entertainment to the area as restrictions come to an end.
Lesley Norris of WKP said: ‘It was great to get back promoting shows again and we are grateful to Billy for persevering and staying available for us. This was the fourth time we tried to get the show on and it was worth it.
‘We are grateful to our friends at Platinum Bar Hire, Tarbert Village Hall and to the Funky Chicken crew and Peter and Arthur who helped entertain the audience before the show and dealt with the technical side.
‘Most of all, though, we thank the folks who turned out to the show. Next up is the brilliant children’s theatre group The McDougalls, who are bringing their ‘Big Splash’ show to Tarbert on August 29.’
