The sun shone as more than 80 players took to the greens at Machrihanish Dunes Golf Club for the eighth Campbeltown Open.
The results of the competition, played on Saturday July 24 and Sunday July 25, were as follows:
Campbeltown Open Men’s section: 1 Paul Tulleth, 144; 2 Simon Thomson, 145; 3 David Mclean, 147; 4 Sam Johnston, 148. Nett winner: Tommy Martin, 130; 2 George Rabe, 134; 3 Jamie Campbell, 138; 4 Bobby Patterson, 141. The Colin Chrystie Quaich winner: Tommy Martin.
Campbeltown Open ladies’ section: Winner: Joanna Scott, 83; 2 Shelly Johnstone, 86. Nett winner: Lynne MacDonald, 73; 2 Anne Storm, 74. The Colin Chrystie Quaich winner: Anne Storm.
On Sunday July 25, there was a fantastic turnout of youngsters and their families for the children’s annual drive, chip and putt competition.
Results: six to nine years section winner: Blaze Mathieson; 10 to 12 years section winner: Katrina Cook; 13 to 14 years section winner: Jake MacMillan.
All prizes were presented by Andy Hogan, general manager of Machrihanish Dunes Golf Resort.
Mr Hogan said: ‘We would like to thank all competitors who participated in the Campbeltown Open and look forward to seeing them all in 2022.
