New exhibition compares Carradale then and now
A new exhibition comparing Carradale of old to what it looks like today is currently showing at the heritage centre opposite Dottie’s cafe.
Carradale Then and Now was conceived in place of the planned 2021 exhibition at Carradale Heritage Centre – part of Carradale Community Trust – which was unable to be completed as a result of the pandemic.
A grant from East Kintyre Windfarm Trust funded the printing of postcards and a couple of pictures from the McGrory Collection, alongside a modern picture taken from the same direction.
Also on show are contemporary pictures of fishing boats that illustrate the changes the Kintyre fishing fleet has undergone over the last 80 years.
The exhibition will run until Sunday October 17. The heritage centre is open the same hours as the cafe, Tuesday to Saturday, 9.30am to 5pm; Sunday, 10.30am to 4pm; Monday, closed.
