Tarbert Golf Club members and guests gathered at Glenralloch last Saturday to compete for the Wee Joe Memorial Shield.

Playing conditions were ideal and with the course in superb condition, good scoring from the 36 participants was anticipated.

Kenny MacFarlane returned to top form in his late father’s event and took first place with his gross 68 giving him 44 Stableford points.

Andrew Henderson was second with 43 points and Peter Bates was third on 41.

The longest drive at the second came from Kenny MacFarlane and closest to the pin at the 8th was Jamie Stuart.

As always, the event was superbly hosted by the MacFarlane Family with everyone enjoying a brilliant day, raising £570 for the Mid Argyll Cancer Support Group.

Tomorrow (Saturday) sees the first round of the Archie MacNab Memorial Cup. The event is played on a Stableford basis with a good turnout anticipated.
