SEMPLE – JORDAN – Both families are delighted to announce the marriage of Lorna, youngest daughter of John and Mary, to Morgan, son of Billy and Alison on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Southend Parish Church by the Rev. S Fulcher. A long awaited special day.

DEATHS
BULLOCH – It is with sad news Agnes Mary Bulloch (Macmillan) passed away peacefully on the evening of June 21, 2021. A much loved and missed mum, sister, granny and auntie who was always first to help anybody, always the life and soul and with a great sense of humour. The funeral will be 1.30pm on July 9 at Clydebank Crematorium, thereafter at The Glen Lusset for a light buffet. Donations welcome for Cancer Research and the RAF Association charities.

CHRISTIE – Peacefully after a short illness at the Mid Argyll Hospital, on June 29, 2021, Margaret Christie, née MacKinnon, aged 66 years of 10 Dun Mor Avenue, Lochgilphead. Beloved wife of the late Brian Christie (former Strathclyde Police). Much loved mum of Claire and Stewart, adored nana of Eilidh, Kalin, Lauren and James. A much respected mother-in-law of Scott and Sandra. Dear sister to Hilda, Duncan and the late Emily. A dear sister-in-law, aunt and cousin to all the family. A good neighbour, dear friend and former work colleague to many. A private family service was held at Woodside Crematorium Paisley on Thursday, July 8, 2021. Donations can be made in memory of Margaret directly to Macmillan Nurses Mid Argyll or via Donald MacDonald Funeral Directors. Sadly missed.

DAVIDSON – Peacefully at home, Creagdhu Mansions, Kirk Street, Campbeltown, with her two girls by her side, on June 30, 2021, Catherine McLean (Rene) in her 94th year, formerly of the Dellwood Hotel, dearly beloved wife of the late Bill Davidson, loving mother of Joan and Tracey, mother-in-law of David and Bruce, beloved granny of Martin, Debbie and Hope and great-granny of Rowan, Joel, Struan and Alba. Funeral service private in line with current government guidelines. Rene’s funeral will take place on Monday, July 12. The cortege will leave the Lorne and Lowland Parish Church at 1.00pm we will travel up Longrow past the Dellwood Hotel, along High Street, down Princes Street, across the Esplanade and past the Cross on our way to Kilkerran Cemetery. Anyone wishing to pay their last respects to Rene may do so along our route. Please remember to observe social distancing.

FARRELL – Mary V. (née Maguire) of West Seneca, NY, (born in Campbeltown) passed away on June 30, 2021. Devoted wife of David J. Farrell; beloved mother of Patrick (Julie), Gladys Widmer (Stephen Kougher), Maryanne, and Shawn Farrell; loving grandmother of Jeremy, Braden, Kayla, Liam, and Samuel; sister of Hugh, Jean, Gladys, Maureen, Patricia, John, Catherine, Zillah, Malcolm, Ruth, Campbell, and Thomas; also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, Baby Jaxson, and other extended family members.

FERGUSON – Peacefully at home, 103 Longrow, Campbeltown, on July 6, 2021, Peter John Ferguson, in his 70th year, dearly beloved husband of Janet O’May, much loved dad of Peter, Janie, Donna, Annette and Robert and a loving granda, great-granda and pops. Funeral service private in line with current government guidelines. Peter’s funeral will take place on Wednesday, July 14. The cortege will leave the Lorne and Lowland Parish Church at 1.00 pm we will travel up Longrow, along Aqualibrium Avenue and past the Cross on our way to Kilkerran Cemetery. Anyone wishing to pay their last respects to Peter may do so along our route. Please remember to observe social distancing.

MCALLISTER – Peacefully on July 2, 2021, Campbell Stewart McAllister, in his 55th year, much loved dad of Morbheinn, Iona and Heather, beloved son of Judith and the late Stewart McAllister and a much loved brother of David and Joanne.

MONCRIEFF – Peacefully at the Mid Argyll Hospital with her family by her side, on Friday, July 2, 2021, Patricia Helen Moncrieff, in her 83rd year, of Dundorran, Inveraray. Beloved wife of Gerald, dearly loved mother of Bob and Colin; adored granma of Aidan, Kyle and Matthew. Much respected mother-in-law of Maureen and Rachel. A private family service will be held at Cardross Crematorium on Friday, July 9, 2021. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made in Pat’s memory directly to Macmillan Nurses or via Donald MacDonald Funeral Directors.

ROBERTSON – Suddenly at home, 5 Lochend Street, Campbeltown, on June 25, 2021, Helen Mary Ann Robertson, in her 73rd year, dearly beloved daughter of the late Robert and Mary Ann Robertson and a much loved sister and aunt. Funeral service private in line with current government guidelines. Helen’s funeral will take place in Cardross Crematorium. Helen’s ashes will be interred with her parents in Kilkerran Cemetery at a later date.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
JOHNSTONE – Ewan, David, Judy and Fraser would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for all the cards, media messages, flowers and other expressions of sympathy following the sad loss of Hope. Thanks also to the hospital nurses, district nurses and doctors involved in her care throughout her long illness. A special thank you to all the carers who supported Hope through her struggle, and without whom we would have found it difficult to cope. Our thanks to Drumfearne Tearoom, Carradale for their excellent catering. Sincere thanks to Reverend Steve Fulcher for his pastoral support and comforting words at the service and graveside. REID – Moira, Iain, Mary and the rest of the family of the late John Ronald Reid, would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for their kind expressions of sympathy following their sad loss. Our sincere thanks to Rev W Crossan, Dr Toledo and the community nurses for their care and support along with Kenneth Blair and his staff for their professionalism and thoughtful attention to every detail. Finally, thank you to everyone who paid tribute at the church and on the route to the cemetery.

The family Alma, Maureen, John and Aileen would like to thank most sincerely all relatives, friends and neighbours for their attendance at the funeral service at Cumlodden Parish Church, Furnace and Kilevin Cemetery, Crarae. Sincere thanks to the Rev. Dorothy Wallace for conducting such a poignant and moving service. Thanks to everyone at Donald MacDonald Funeral Directors who dealt with everything very professionally and sympathetically and for their care and compassion, which made a sad time a bit easier; also thanks to The George Hotel, Inveraray for the buffet afterwards. Thanks to all for their care of Douglas at the Mid Argyll Hospital, Lochgilphead and the Lorn and Island Hospital, Oban.
