At a time where accurate information about Covid-19 was vital to our community, this was the right decision – even though it meant a drop in our income. In order to help safeguard the future of our journalism, the time has now come to reinstate our paywall.

A 67-year-old man was charged after a man and two women were assaulted within an address in Main Street, Campbeltown, at about midnight on Sunday March 21.
A car at Hutcheson Court, Campbeltown, was damaged between 6pm on Saturday March 20 and 11.30am on Sunday March 21 when a bottle was smashed off its roof causing a dent.
A vehicle was stopped by police at Snipefiled Industrial Estate, Campbeltown, at about 11am on Sunday March 21, and checks revealed the vehicle allegedly had an expired MOT. The driver, a 36-year-old woman (36) was subsequently charged.
Breach of bail
At about 11.40pm on Saturday March 27, a 39-year-old man reportedly breached bail conditions imposed by the court by entering an address in Albyn Avenue, Campbeltown. At the same incident, a 21-year-old woman allegedly breached bail conditions by admitting the man to her flat. Police arrested and charged the pair who were held for court.
A car was found crashed into a ditch on the A846 near Bridgend, Islay, at about 2.20am on Sunday March 28. Subsequently, a 23-year-old man was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was also charged with driving with no licence and taking the vehicle without the owner’s consent.
