Christmas may be just around the corner but it was for art related to a different celebration that two Kintyre children have been rewarded.

Many primary school pupils entered a Hallowe’en art competition run by Kintyre Care Home, however Evan Cook from Dalintober Primary School – who received his prize from the care home’s new manager Colin McBurnie – and Eve McTaggart from Castlehill Primary School were crowned the winners.

A care home spokesperson said: ‘Things are very different this year and, at Kintyre Care Home, we have missed our visits from the schools. Because of this, we decided to involve schools in our Hallowe’en celebrations by holding an art competition.

‘Dalintober primary and Castlehill primary created some amazing artwork and residents and staff at the care home had the wonderful but difficult job of picking the two winners.’
