At the start of the pandemic in March we took the decision to make online access to our news free of charge by taking down our paywall. At a time where accurate information about Covid-19 was vital to our community, this was the right decision – even though it meant a drop in our income. In order to help safeguard the future of our journalism, the time has now come to reinstate our paywall.
However, rest assured that access to all Covid related news will still remain free.
To access all other news will require a subscription, as it did pre-pandemic.
The good news is that for the whole of December we will be running a special discounted offer to get 3 months access for the price of one month. Thank you for supporting us during this incredibly challenging time.
We value our content and access to our full site is only available on subscription. Your subscription entitles you to 7-day-a-week access to our website, plus a full digital copy of that week’s paper to read on your pc/mac or mobile device In addition your subscription includes access to digital archive copies from 2006 onwards.
Campbeltown lad Connor Chinn has recently returned from the Caribbean after a four-month deployment on RFA Argus, a ship of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, supporting humanitarian efforts in the region.
Upon his return, the up-and-coming DJ and producer was asked by ExhilarateUK Radio, which broadcasts around the world, to host its Exhilarate Breakfast Show, showcasing new talent and chatter in which listeners can participate.
ExhilarateUK Radio is based in London and Connor is the only Scottish presenter involved with the station, which has strong connections with Ibiza. When Covid-19 subsides, the station will be hosting a festival on the White Isle.
Connor’s new show – which broadcasts every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am on www.exhilarateuk-radio.com – has already achieved great success, including involvement from James Buckley, better known to some as Jay Cartwright from The Inbetweeners television series and movies.
Connor is especially keen to involve his home town of Campbeltown in the show by showcasing talent from the area, and in the future securing a Kintyre company as a sponsor of the show.
He is also keen to promote positivity around mental health matters. He said: ‘Stay strong during these difficult days – by helping each other and promoting positive mental health, we will all come out the other side stronger than ever.’
Any artistes interested in having their music played on a successful station with a wide reach and large audience, can get in touch with ExhilarateUK Radio by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by messaging on social media.
