A group of Dunaverty Golf Club’s ‘Heidbangers’ opted to have their annual outing at Carradale Golf Club.

The players enjoyed their day despite playing their two rounds in persistent wind and rain.

Willie Ralston had the best points total on the first round of nine holes by notching up 17, one clear of Hamish Kelly and Sandy Watson.

The second round was a different tale with Willie and Hamish both dropping shots. Willie Young came through strongly by scoring 16 for a two round total of 30.

This looked like a winning score until stalwart Sandy Watson edged in front by adding 15 to his first round of 16 to lift the Heidbangers trophy for the third time.

Result: 1 Sandy Watson 31 points; 2 Willie Young 30; 3 Danny Halliday 26; 4 Willie Ralston 25; 5 Malcolm Ronald 24; 6 Hamish Kelly 23.

On Tuesday September 1, a contingent of ladies and gents from Dalmally Golf Club enjoyed an outing to Carradale Golf Club.

Carradale and Dalmally signed a reciprocal agreement towards the end of last season which affords members of both clubs favourable playing arrangements at each club.

The Dalmally visitors, after an unpromising drizzly start, enjoyed a cool but dry day on the course, enjoying not just its many golfing challenges but its stunning views to Arran and beyond.

Club members enjoyed a good day’s golfing at Carradale on the Kintyre peninsula.
