Fine weather greeted golfers who took part in two competitions at Machrihanish Golf Club last weekend.
On Saturday, 26 teams took part in the McKinven and Colville Better Ball Open. The handicap winners were Andrew Armour and Alan Thomson and the scratch winners were Stephen Kelly and Stuart Campbell, with the ladies’ winners Lindsay Garrett and Pauline MacEwen.
On Sunday, players competed in the US Masters Texas Scramble qualifier. The winning team was Robbie’s Reindeer, consisting of Ryan McGlynn, Jim Hunter, Robbie Wilson and Ari Techner, who are now one round away from going to Augusta.
The winner of the longest drive at the 7th was Thomas Martin and the closest to the pin at the fourth was Donald Laing.
