Well-known Campbeltown man Duncan Brown – former toy shop proprietor – has been writing about his childhood memories growing up in Campbeltown in the late 1920s and the 1930s.

In his booklet, entitled Boyhood Memories of the Wee Toon, Duncan, now aged almost 95, reminisces about shops and industries and shares anecdotes from his childhood.

The booklets will be for sale in the Kintyre Larder from Friday, priced £1.99.

All money raised from booklet sales is being donated to Macmillan Nurses, Campbeltown, from whom Duncan, who is currently in poor health, has received wonderful care.

Duncan thanks Linda McLean at the Kintyre Larder for selling his books.
