A motorist was stopped on the A83 near Bellochantuy at about 6pm on Monday July 6, for allegedly exceeding the speed limit. The driver, a 49-year-old man, was charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
A 69-year-old man allegedly urinated in public at about 9.35pm on Wednesday July 8 at Kinloch Road, Campbeltown. Police attended and the man was issued with a recorded police warning.
Police and fire crews attended Kilmashenachan Caravan Park at about 5.30am on Thursday July 9 after a report of a caravan on fire. Two caravans were damaged by fire but nobody was injured.
Between 6pm and 6.45pm on Tuesday July 7 there was an attempted break-in to a shed in grounds of Dalintober Primary School, Campbeltown, with an attempt to force the lock.
A 46-year-old woman allegedly threw cans of paint at a door in Mill Street, Campbeltown, at about 3pm on Friday July 10. Police attended and the woman was charged and issued with a recorded police warning. At about 12.30pm on Saturday July 11, in Mill Street, Campbeltown, a 32-year-old man allegedly threw a can of paint at a door. Police attended and the man was charged and issued with a recorded police warning.
Farm building damaged
Stonework on a building on farm land at Tigh Cargaman, Port Ellen, was damaged between noon on Monday June 1 and 10am on Wednesday June 3.
The driver’s door of a grey Fiat 500 car was scratched between 7pm and 7.30pm on Monday July 6 near to the Co-op store, at Main Street, Bowmore, Islay.
The driver’s side of a black Volkswagen Golf car was scratched between 3.15pm and 4.45pm on Monday July 6, within a car park at Cattlemans, Islay House Square, Islay.
A green/blue Raleigh pedal cycle was stolen from outside a house on Leodamus Place, Port Ellen, Islay, between 4pm and 6pm on Wednesday July 8. The cycle was subsequently recovered a short while and distance later. Police are investigating the incident and are appealing for witnesses.
