Speeding motorist

A motorist was stopped for allegedly exceeding the speed limit on the A83, at Putechan, Bellochantuy, at about 4.30pm on Thursday June 18. The driver, a 34-year-old man, was charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Drug search

A house in Tarbert was searched by police at about 11am on Wednesday June 17, and a 55-year-old man was found to be in possession of a small amount of cannabis. He was charged and issued with a recorded police warning.

No insurance

A motorcycle was stopped by police for a routine check at about 8.05pm on Monday June 15, on the A846 near Bowmore. Checks revealed there was no insurance in force for the vehicle and the driver, a 19-year-old man, was charged with the offence and issued with a £300 fixed penalty ticket with six penalty points.
