A group of wild swimmers from East Kintyre took to the chilly water last Sunday in honour of International Women’s Day.

International Women’s Day is celebrated annually around the world on March 8 and is a focal point for women’s rights movements.

The swimmers raised £70 which will be donated to the Campbeltown branch of Argyll and Bute Women’s Aid.

Trish Collins, one of those who took to the sea on Sunday, said: ‘We swim most Sundays at 9am but the majority of the time it is when the mood and weather allows – but there is someone in the water most days at Torrisdale Bay!’
