As the indoor bowling season winds down Campbeltown Bowling Club’s open pairs, sponsored by Andrew Thompson Plastering and Decorating, was held in the Stronvaar clubhouse last week.

The competition, held on a round-robin basis, was whittled down to two semi-finals and the final on Thursday night, with the final between Robert Coffield and Ryan McLachlan of the host club and Gavin McLachlan Jr and James Ronald from Argyll Bowling Club.

The match was always close and could have gone either way but Gavin and James prevailed to take home the Archie Smith Cup.

The trophy and prizes were presented by new president David Brown and past president Bobby Dalziel on behalf of the sponsor.
